Tenders & Grants

Did you have the resources, time and information at your fingertips the last time you prepared a Tender? How much time did you lose from front line and support staff in getting it over the line? How confident were you that you had done enough to be the best applicant? Leading agencies incorporate our Continuous Tender Process as part of their annual Business Plans. Providing agencies with the tools to ensure that applications are timely, labour neutral, accurate, and most often, successful. Through our trained and highly experienced Tender Team we can assist you in designing the frameworks necessary in your individual organisation to ensure all the systems necessary for gathering, storing, updating and accessing information for any Tender application are in place and ready to proceed. Importantly, our system ensures that the process is System-centric, not Person-centric, allowing for key staff to be absent if necessary, and still submit high quality application.

Every Tender opportunity is now available to you regardless of your limitations. There will always be a time when the best prepared plans fall short of capacity. Notification of Tender opportunities can at times come when least expected, and when all of your other systems are already to capacity. Times like this require qualified and extremely experienced senior practitioners in the art of writing Tenders. We provide this service with extensive experience and a clear understanding of the variety of funding authorities across Australia. In most cases our team are able to respond with short notice and provide the depth of targeted expertise necessary to succeed in these high pressure time-lines.

Case Studies

Open Minds, a large Non Government Organisation based in Queensland, with over 100 years in the sector, provide both mental health and disability services. They contacted us in late 2012 to develop a Recovery Oriented Service Delivery model that would provide them with a unique point of sales when tendering. Following extensive consultation with Open Minds at all levels we developed the Recovery Enhancement Framework (REF) and trained 250 of their staff, including the leadership team. The REF has received positive feedback from partners including Queensland Health, as well as service users. The project included the development of 14 internal trainers who are now responsible for the delivery of this training to staff internally, and also to external stakeholders. In addition, a comprehensive Supervision model was developed and established to ensure that the implementation and continuity of REF. This integrated approach to Service Model, Training and Supervision has provided positive change across the organisation and reflected in their continuing use of our services.

After identifying the need for preventing burnout and psychological injury in human services, Aftercare, a national mental health organisation, has contracted the Mental Health Recovery Institute to provide a self care and wellbeing program including regular delivery of the ‘Advanced Self Care Strategies to Avoid Burnout’ course to staff, and monthly supervision to individual teams across the organisation, including the leadership team, residential services, outreach services, and youth services. A regional manager, Kate Snars has reported some feedback from one of her staff that “the training had reinvigorated her job, and made her a truly positive person, and given her strategies to give that positivity to her clients. She directly credited your course with a turnaround in support of 2 of her clients, saying they are almost ready to graduate, because of the change in her approach after doing your course.”

Integration of existing systems and resources with the Continuous Tender Process was a key attraction for Open Minds to engage our services. With proven success in Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia across Disability and Mental Health Tender opportunities, engagement with our service was timely for them. Having newly appointed a Business Development Manager at the same time as a number of Tender opportunities arriving simultaneously, the capacity expansion of our service was sufficient to allow for all applications on offer being assessed and subsequently applied for. Our service continues to provide the support to this agency for continuing their flexible approach to this critical aspect of business.
